About the Teacher
Paula Lynch Liberis
Paula is a therapeutic body worker and an E-RYT-500 Yoga Works Certified Instructor affiliated with the Yogaworks Teacher Training programs. Her teaching style is influenced by the fluency of movement in Ashtanga yoga and the precision and clarity of Iyengar yoga. She practices yoga as a form of devotion, prayer and self-study and understands the practice as so much more than just physical – it is cellular, intellectual and spiritual involving our entire being.
Paula’s teaching style expresses yoga as an incredible technique that can give us access to the layers of our physical and energetic bodies through patient and intentional practice. Her primary teachers are Genny Kapuler and Glenn Black who have helped her experience the world through her practice. Her continuing studies of anatomy, kinesiology and manual therapy are applied to her understanding and teaching of yogasana in her classes through breath, playful movement and alignment of the physical body.
She teaches weekly classes and workshops in New York City at Yogaworks, is on the Yogaworks Teacher Training faculty and is a guest anatomy teacher for various 200HR teacher training programs in the city. Paula studies Bodytuning with master bodyworker Glenn Black and Manhattan based physical therapist Shmuel Tatz, PhD.
Susan ¨Lip¨ Orem
Susan began practicing yoga when the thrill of bench aerobics was gone. Her first teachers were Sharon Gannon, Dana Flynn and Cyndi Lee. Her checkered past as a dancer in Las Vegas revues, Off Broadway actress, Ringling Brothers clown and sign language interpreter, left her no choice but to teach yoga. She was too old to be a cowgirl or an astronaut. Before there was OM Yoga, first she was certified by Cyndi Lee.
She has been a student of Rodney Yee since 1996 and continues to be inspired by his teaching. She is proud to be part of the Teacher Training program for Yoga Shanti in Sag Harbor and to assist Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman annually at Kripalu. In NYC Genny Kapuler and Carrie Owerko keep Lip´s feet steady on the path. The most influential teachers have been all the students willing to take this trip with her. Susan ¨Lip¨ is grateful every day that what she does is what she loves.
