The Yoga Circle Program Details
As we practice and play together under the protective canopy of the jungle and alongside and in the rejuvenating ocean, we’ll create a circle of friendship interwoven with compassion, kindness, and joy. Our two daily and varied yoga classes invite students of all levels and will offer pranayama, meditation, adjustments, and personalized modifications. We’ll explore the fluid movement of tai chi on the beach. Best of all, our woven circle includes meditation and yoga teacher Adriana Garcia of Puerto Vallarta and Mexico City, who will join Merry Beth and Amy in leading classes. And if you choose, you can hike, explore village life, paddleboard, or join zip-line and whale-watching trips as well as participate in a hands-on cooking class with Chef Mario. In our previous retreats at Xinalani solid friendships and connections have formed as hearts have opened. Please join us.

Relaxation & Rest
Your stay includes beautiful thatched-roof accommodations for seven days, all classes with ample props; three mindfully sourced and prepared gourmet meals served daily perched over the sea, transfers from and to the airport, and all taxes. And while we support you in staying as unplugged as possible, free wireless access is available in reception so you can keep in touch when necessary.
All accommodations are beachfront, spacious, palm-thatched cabins floating on stilts. Built and furnished by local artisans, their cozy interiors inspire feelings of calm and serenity. You will enjoy the closeness of the natural elements, the stimulation of the open-air private showers and the stunning views of the Pacific Ocean from your terrace.
Let’s face it, when you’re focused on whole-life transformation you can build up quite an appetite. In Xinalani you’ll eat a healthy diet specially designed for yogis. All meals are prepared with locally grown produce and freshly caught fish and seafood. Meals include gluten-free and vegan options. The chef is well versed in principles of raw food, ayurveda cuisine and macrobiotics. The menu adds a modern flare to the tasty ingredients of traditional Mexican recipes. Special diet suggestions can be accommodated.
About the Teachers
Amy Dirksen & Merry Beth Hovey
Amy Dirksen, left, and Merry Beth Hovey, right, have been teaching various fitness and mindbody modalities for over a decade. They are in business together and along with their partner, Marcia Appel, operate integrative healing and yoga centers in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. They are long-time friends and colleagues, on the mat and off. They have positively touched and inspired many students over the years, and shared their experiences and teachings with thousands of others at Green Lotus and the YMCA.
