All accommodations have private bathrooms, open air showers and hot water.
Caution: Xinalani is not accessible to handicapped people
On the contrary, because of our very location and setting, getting to Xinalani requires a certain level of physical fitness. Xinalani was designed for people in search of some kind of adventure. To get there, you will have to travel by panga, a small (25-30 ft) fiber glass mexican boat with an outboard engine. You will most probably wet your feet and knees as you will jump off the boat on to the beach alla Indiana Jones! Our retreat center is built on a very steep terrain and there are many many stairs, and no elevator, which is let’s face it, a once in a lifetime opportunity to get back in shape. Please see our property map for more detail.
Puerto Vallarta Old Town
Nested in the middle of Banderas Bay where the states of Jalisco and Nayarit meet, lies Puerto Vallarta, one of the top yoga vacations destinations in North America. With the Sierra Madre Mountains as a verdant green backdrop, and more than 25 miles of golden sand beaches at the forefront, this area boasts natural beauty along with over 300 days of sunny skies and spectacular sunsets. Puerto Vallarta and the surrounding area are extremely diverse and offer something for every visitor and every lifestyle. Here, a fusion of traditional Mexico blended with modern day luxuries, a quaint small town charm and warm friendly people. These are just a few of the reasons why Puerto Vallarta is the top most revisited destinations in all of Mexico.
Banderas Bay and Puerto Vallarta South Shore, home of Xinalani Retreat
The most spectacular natural scenery is on the southern coast of Puerto Vallarta and Banderas Bay. Here, the Sierra Madre mountains meet the sea in private coves and small white sand beaches. This wonderful scenery is the land of rustic fishermen villages (Yelapa, Quimixto, Las Animas, Majahuitas, and Pizota), often mistaken as islands. Near Quimixto and set amongst 10 acres of lush unspoiled jungle is Xinalani, our Spa Yoga Retreat. Only 12 miles south of Puerto Vallarta’s International Airport, Xinalani’s quiet emerald waters and pristine sandy beach is only accessible by boat. On the way to our Yoga Center in Mexico you may encounter whales in their migration season (November through March), dolphins, giant manta rays and olive Ridley sea turtles.
Xinalani Retreat is the perfect destination for those who practice yoga and meditation but also for people who like to surf or boogie-board (amazing surfing point in neighboring beach), hike, enjoy bird watching, snorkeling and catching some sun on the beach. Scuba diving is available nearby, along with hikes to waterfalls. Rated as one the Friendliest Cities in the World (by Conde Nast Magazine) the local people, the vibe and atmosphere that Puerto Vallarta and its surroundings are what keep people coming back. Relying mainly on tourism, Vallarta strives to keep the area clean, safe and beautiful.
