Join Marti and Elizabeth and escape, immerse and unwind on this magical, adventurous week of yoga and nature at the beautiful Xinalani Retreat Center, located just south of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Xinalani (pronounced shee-nah-lah-nee) means ¨seeds¨ in pre-Hispanic language.
ESCAPE, IMMERSE and UNWIND for 7 full days, while deepening your yoga practice at this mountainous, tropical beach paradise!
Each day will begin with a meditation and asana practice. Afterwards, you’ll have time to enjoy the amenities of this Five Star Eco-Resort including pristine private beach, hiking, nearby waterfalls, kayaking, boat rides, whale watching, swimming with dolphins, spa treatments, beach bonfires, surfing and gourmet vegetarian meals!
We’ll reconvene in the afternoon or evening for a rejuvenating restorative or yin practice. This will be a truly transformational experience! COME and ALLOW yourself to be inspired!

About the Teacher
Marti’s journey has come full circle, from her first fitness studio in Charleston, SC in 1982, to the ‘birth’ of Vista Yoga in Atlanta. For almost 30 years her passion for physical and spiritual well-being has led her from teaching various forms of fitness, including personal training, to her discovery of Yoga in 1998.
Both dynamic and therapeutic, Marti’s classes are infused with a thorough understanding of the body, ancient wisdom, her nurturing spirit and a touch of humor. She is a Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher. After studying with a wide variety of Yoga teachers, she has spent the past 4 years extensively with Tias and Surya Little, of Prajna Yoga in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she is pursuing her 500 RYT hrs. She is also trained in Thai Yoga Massage therapy.
I came to yoga 18 years ago from the stress of corporate life. Realizing yoga’s healing potential when I discovered my pain was self induced from stress & tension, a lifelong love was born. The initial physical motivation has grown into a deep relationship with the holistic lifestyle teachings in the Yoga Sutras. Yoga Sutra II:46, the foundation for asana practice inspires asana practice & teaching, ‘Yoga pose is a steady and comfortable position’. To assist practitioners in finding comfortable and steady, I teach therapeutic techniques that strengthen and stretch targeted muscles/groups for appropriate use. Yoga is frequently associated primarily with stretching. However, weakened muscles hold tension more than strong ones, constituting the need for a balanced practice that includes both strengthening & stretching.
Teacher trainings include: Ananda Ashram with a strong meditative focus, Peachtree Yoga Center with a vinyasa flair, Restorative Yoga with Judith Lasater and Yoga Therapy at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai, India. My classes include energy & alignment principles to guide students through safe & supportive practices using the breath as a pathway to release deep seated stress. An ongoing relationship with God & my teacher, Mukunda Stiles, creator & author of Structural Yoga Therapy & Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy has transformed my life & yoga practice.
