About the Teacher
Monica’s passion in life is to teach. She holds an M.A. in Elementary Education and spent more than 15 years teaching elementary students, facilitating professional development workshops and mentoring teachers and administrators in various school districts around the country. Her yoga practice began nearly 25 years ago as means to calm stress during the daily rigors as a graduate student, which in turn lead her to crave a deeper understanding of how the human body works. Studying extensively in the area of biomechanics in movement as well as anatomy, she is continually fascinated by the movement patterns we have developed over time. Monica is an experienced registered E-RYT 500hr Yoga Alliance certified instructor. Her love of yoga and movement and a desire for continued education led her to Kerala, India, where she participated in an advanced training in the Tantric lineage. As a life-long student she is committed to training exclusively with master teachers in the industries of yoga, biomechanics, functional movement, and physiotherapy. Monica remains committed to leading Teacher Trainings, hosting yoga retreats, and facilitating movement workshops all with the objective of educating clients about their bodies. Monica’s practice, teachings and continued education has lead her on a stimulating journey that has allowed her the opportunity to help people appreciate and rediscover the love of the human body.
