with Daniel Max and Brenna Matthews
Nestled between a secluded beach and the mountains, on a property only accessible by boat, resides the eco-chic retreat center Xinalani. This retreat is one of deep relaxation and communion with the ocean. Each night you’ll fall asleep listening to the waves crash. Each morning you’ll have a direct view of the sun rising over the Pacific.
The facilities are pristine while bowing to the natural environment. All cabins are open-air and house outdoor showers with views of the sea below. At the top of the property sits a fully-stocked yoga den and meditation cabin. The spa peaks out over the beach so that during your massage you feel a little like you’re floating. The creators of Xinalani took great care not to disturb the remarkable biodiversity of Banderas Bay. In a few words, Xinalani is tropical perfection.
Every day will have two yoga practices with plenty of time in between to hang, swim, hike, SUP, surf, visit waterfalls or anything else your heart desires. It’s easy to get there too. Book a flight to Puerto Vallarta (arriving anytime before 4:30 on the 18th and leaving anytime after 11am on the 25th) and Xinalani will pick up and ferry you via boat to the retreat center.

About the Teachers
Yoga has always made sense to Brenna. Even before she knew what the term was or had completed a class, she had the understanding that everything is connected.
In her younger years, Brenna played division 1 college soccer and ran half and full marathons. Because of this, she has come to appreciate the softness yoga can offer. Her classes are creatively sequenced, informed by her extensive training in anatomy as well as her experience as a massage therapist. Brenna teaches Vinyasa styled yoga as well as Yin and Restorative. Brenna is also the co-director of Boston Yoga School’s teacher certification program. www.brennamatthewswellness.com
Daniel is the co-founder of a Boston-based yoga studio, where he both teaches and directs the JP Centre Yoga teacher certification program. Taking great interest in the physical body and its energetic blueprint, Daniel sequences classes for optimal anatomical function with an emphasis on alignment. Informed by his practice of yoga and meditation for the past 15 years, his classes support the health of body and mind and are taught in reverence to the heritage and philosophy of the yogic path. Along with yoga, Daniel holds certifications in the fields of massage therapy, shiatsu, and nutrition and health counseling.
