Xinalani Resident Yoga Teacher: Adriana Garcia
Adriana Garcia is a Hatha Yoga Instructor (E-RYT 200 – RYT 500 / YA ID: 54136) is one of a kind woman, yoga & meditation practitioner. She has not only been to incredible places all around the world, but she has taken trainings with several yoga and Zen mentors, such as Dh. Dharmapriya, Indu Bala Bhardwaj, Matej Jurenka and Swami Sudhir Anand; just to name a few!
Adriana has been a dedicated practitioner of Yoga and meditation since 1999. Her practice has been profoundly influenced by her in-depth studies of Tibetan and Zen Buddhism, as well as her studies of the Tao. As a student of Zen Buddhism, she views Yoga as a vehicle for kindness and compassion. She maintains a clear spotlight on the needs of each student, and helps them improve spiritually and physically through focus, balance, and alignment.
Along with various styles of Yoga, Adriana uses meditation, mantras and mudras to help each participant go deeper inside themselves. By allowing time to go deeply into the postures, her students find their own unique ways to restore health and flexibility. With her support, her students learn proper structure and alignment which allows them to take their own journeys inside and discover the meaning of deepening practice.
Each class, while it may differ in pace or type of Yoga, it offers to her students an opportunity to use breath, body and spirit as a tool of renewal. Her methods encourage students to examine and honor their own purpose in doing Yoga –for a class, a day, or for their own lives.
Adriana’s students learn that alignment is more than simply physical, that the source of joy and creative renewal in Yoga lies not in the teacher’s offerings, but in how deep the student takes that which is lovingly offered.
She started teaching Yoga at “Arbol del Yoga” and “Yoga en Forma Escuela”, both studios are located in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. She got her Teacher’s Training Certificate at “Yoga Vallarta Studio” from Maria Abad E-RYT 500 in 2010. In 2014 she went to a 300 hour advanced Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India which now qualifies her as an RYT 500 hour yoga teacher.
Recently, Adriana shared her practice as a Yoga Teacher and as Buddhist practitioner in Central Europe (Slovakia and Czech Republic) as well as in Guayaquil, Ecuador. In Mexico, she has participated as a Yoga Teacher in the Zen and Hatha Yoga Retreats in San Sebastian del Oeste and in Puente Grande, Jalisco. In 2014, upon the invitation of the head of the school, she taught classes at the Shiva Yoga Peeth School in India.
As previously mentioned, she is currently our Resident Teacher at Xinalani Retreat in Quimixto, not only as a Yoga Instructor but also as a Zen Meditation Teacher. Through her meditation classes she teaches the art of mindfulness, a solid asset to face the real challenges of our daily hectic lives. This could have revolutionary effects on your work, your relationships, your health and your overall level of happiness. A must do for anyone willing to fulfill their real potential.

Here’s one of her favorites quotes she likes to share with all of us:
“You cannot enter the door of Yoga without kindness and compassion for others.” ~ Tibetan Book of Yoga.
With all her knowledge and her beautiful spirit, she has been the perfect match for Xinalani Retreat over the last three years, and we couldn’t be happier for that! All our guests that have taken yoga and meditation classes with her, leave with a great experience and a dear friend! Many return guests have already became family to us, and most of them are still in touch with her, due to the great connection they all have developed with her during their visit with us.
In fact, we would like to share with you this written testimonial from past guests:
“We can’t say enough about our yoga experience that Adriana creates for us. She is so special, and treats each guest with love as she calls us her “Beautiful Ones.” Her classes are unlike anything we do here, as she introduces us to special themes with mantras, chakra yoga, and sanga yoga – super special! She help us to grow as individuals spiritually and in our practice! Take care, and we will plan to come back ‘home’ in about 6 months!” ~ Elise & Frank
If you haven’t had the chance to visit Xinalani, or have never taken a class with her, we totally recommend you to try her two daily yoga sessions in your next stay at Xinalani!
