Leslie Green

Leslie approaches every class she teaches with enthusiasm and humour. It was 2007 when Leslie moved to Toronto, and started teaching at Beaches Hot Yoga. She found the students strong and the room beautiful and has taught regularly here ever since. Prior to becoming a certified Bikram Yoga instructor in 2002, she was a personal trainer but when she saw the effects of the Bikram series on herself and others she left personal training and has never been in a gym since. Leslie feels that few people can articulate the benefits of Bikram Yoga as eloquently as Tony Sanchez, one of Bikram’s first teachers, so she wanted to leave you with a quote from him: “The foundation of the postures is to generate health, to get all your organs in proper condition, and all of the systems in your body working in harmony. Every posture has been designed to work on specific parts of the body – organs, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. If your body, for whatever reason, is not healthy you will always be attached to the discomfort that your body is going through and it will be very difficult for you to let go of it.”

Recently having completed her Hot Yoga Teacher Training (300 HR) and Yin Yoga Teacher Training (50 HR), Lavetta brings to her teaching a genuine joy for life and passion for wellness. She believes yoga to be accessible for everyone and that, with regular practice, will transform your life – body, mind and spirit. Always grateful for the opportunity, Lavetta looks forward to guiding students towards a deeper experience of wellness and well-being through the compassionate practice of yoga.
