Heart Of Gold

From January 13 2018 to January 20, 2018

Love Hive Yoga is returning once again to bask in the sunshine and the light of our community. Audra & Jessica, co-founders of the thriving yoga studio Love Hive Yoga in Portland, Oregon are known for their unique blend of heart opening yoga, education based teachings, and fun loving spirits. We will dance our yogi hearts out with 2 yoga classes each day in open air studios overlooking the pacific ocean. Classes will be free, flowing, and deep diving in the morning and relaxing, nourishing and grounding in the evening. Fresh & nourishing meals combined with plenty of spaciousness for relaxation & connecting with yourself and others have made this retreat one of the most amazing experiences we’d ever had. There are several optional planned adventures with the group such as swimming with dolphins, visiting waterfalls, stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking just to name a few.
As always, we will be bringing the Love Hive nectar to make this an unforgettable light filled experience.

Heart Of Gold

Audra Carmine

Yoga is the potent process by which we awaken to our full potential, which is love, which is divine. The practices of yoga ask us to become sensitive explorers of our own beings so that we might begin to distinguish between that which is separate from us–such as habits and patterns–and our essential self, which is always perfect and cannot be changed. The process of transformation that occurs through the practices of yoga, is a matter of clearing away the crud, the dust that settles upon us through the sheer act of living to see a deeper truth, a greater understanding of that which connects us to one another and to the world. Yoga is like defogging the soul window. When this connection to our full potential begins to be explored, on the mat–in the great laboratory of asana practice–and in our relationships and work, we become more awake to the possibility of freedom and joy in our daily lives.

The cultivation of this awareness through the daily ritual of practice is what interests me. Mr. Iyengar says, “Never the same pose twice,” which is obvious and wonderfully freeing, simultaneously! We don’t have to do it the same way every time, or look exactly like the person next to us in class, or in the yoga magazine at the grocery. We get to be who we are– today–on the mat and in our lives, working hard to make space and to live better.

Currently, I am studying with Christina Sell and benefit greatly from her expereince, wisdom, guidance and continued support. Teaching has shown me that it is absolutely necessary to be a perpetual student. Joyfully, I study everyday with my students, my family, my books, my asana practice and my life.

As I continue to learn and practice, the line between yoga and the rest of my life has softened and blurred, affording me the opportunity to share my love of yoga with you, day after day. I cannot adequetly express how humbling it is to wake up everyday knowing that this is my work, my offering of love in this world. Thank you!

Yoga is a mysterious and vast dance. She is intoxicating and lovely, startling and fierce at the same time. She is forever revealing herself in tiny glimpses of understanding which only highlights the immensity of the unknown. For me it is an artistic practice full of creativity and perfectly adapted to fit the eye of the beholder. This is a unique process for each individual and as we use the various palettes and colors of our lives, it shifts and changes always molding to meet us exactly where we need it to. My yoga practice has been a continual process of coming home. A reawakening to understand of what I truly am, my wholeness, & a belonging to this earth, always trying to pay it forward through sharing what I am learning.

I am interested in what it means to fully Love ourselves, others, & as a practice. I want to learn to know myself and seek that understanding in others. I use the practice of Asana or postures to help connect me to the body so that I can move in the world from a more rooted place. I feel more connected to my complete person when I practice and the gifts of healing and grace that I have experienced through these teachings is what motivates me to share.

In my classes you will always be welcome to be who you are. We laugh, play, work hard, rest well, listen to music, dance with the Asanas, and cultivate freedom. I use mantras, Shiva, myths, and poetry. All of the tools are meant to awaken. This practice is a rediscovering of something that is already within us. It is not something we need to acquire or accomplish but something that we remember.

At the end of the day the purpose is simple and singular. To Love. The qualities and tools may be unique but they are shared and built upon one another to create an overall system that affords us the most potent opportunity for realizing our fullest potential. I am grateful to be on the path together with you and for the opportunity to learn side by side.

“Love yourself. Then forget it. Then love the world.” ~Mary Oliver
