New Year Nature Connection Yoga Retreat

New Year Nature Connection Yoga Retreat

From January 19 to 26, 2019

New Year Nature Connection will be a life enriching, and quite possibly life-changing, a trip where you will get to experience the wonders of Xinalani (pronounced she-nah- lah-knee).

Xinalani offers an unparalleled yoga retreat experience.  The exclusive eco-chic resort is located off-the-grid on a private beach that is accessible only by boat.  Our home for the week is tucked away in the jungle of the Sierra Madre mountains, which are full of beautiful butterflies, exotic birds, and even iguanas. You will be immersed in lush jungle surroundings with views of the emerald ocean. Sleep in beautiful nature-inspired accommodations, enjoy delicious and healthy food, and practice yoga in world-class open-air studios.

Since we’ll be visiting during whale watching season, there is a good chance you’ll be welcomed by the magnificent visiting humpback whales and resident dolphins.

Upon arrival, you’ll begin to immediately feel a remembrance of what it means to connect with nature, as a sense of clarity and calmness begins to wash over you.  Come, re-connect with your natural rhythm of homeostasis and health, and come home to yourself after the holidays.

India Borba Benedetto

E-RYT 500

India approaches her own practice of yoga from a place of genuine curiosity and aims to share this with her students. Her background is rooted in international, grass-roots community development, women’s empowerment, and business, which has inspired a deep desire for her to contribute in a sustainable way toward a healthy community and planet.

India is an experienced registered yoga teacher at the 500 hour level with Yoga Alliance, and a certified yoga nidra facilitator. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business and communication from Arizona State University, served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Bolivia, and holds an Executive Certificate in Global Negotiations from Thunderbird School of Global Management. In 2017, she completed the Climate Reality Leadership Training with Al Gore, and has spearheaded “Yogis for Climate Action.”

India is the founder of India Bee Yoga and has created a yoga nidra meditation app called “Bee Mindful” in hopes that the practice of meditation and mindfulness can be more accessible to all. She believes that in order for us to create shifts on a global scale towards peace, justice, and equality, we each need to begin with ourselves and allow that to ripple outward.  This is why she comes to the mat, and she invites you to do the same.

A Day In Your Yoga Retreat

We awaken to the songs of tropical birds and soothing ocean waves. We then head barefoot to the open-air jungle studio overlooking Banderas Bay for a supportive and invigorating morning vinyasa practice, followed by a grounding yoga Nidra meditation. After practice, we’ll be nourished by a fresh, local and organic breakfast. The next six hours are yours to choose your own adventure: hiking through the jungle to the waterfall, enjoying an ocean-side massage, sea kayaking, relaxing pool-side with a freshly squeezed juice, or exploring our private beach.  We reconvene shortly before sunset for a restorative group practice. We close our day together with a nutritious community dinner as the light fades to darkness and the sky fills with stars inviting us into a restful sleep.
