Radical State CorePower Yoga Retreat

Heather Peterson

As the Chief Yoga Officer, Heather is the longest continuous staff member for CorePower Yoga.  She has been teaching yoga since 2002 and was hired as the second studio manager for the company in 2003. Throughout her tenure, Heather has served in a number of varied strategic and operational capacities, including as the Regional Manager of Colorado and then California where she developed the emerging markets along the West Coast as CorePower expanded its studio reach.  She oversaw the strategy and content for classroom instruction and programming and created the first Hot Yoga Teacher Training program at CorePower Yoga.
She has served as faculty for over 80, 200-hour teacher trainings, co-developed and lead the CorePower Yoga Nutrition Program, and Level 2. In her current role, Heather is focused on yoga quality and innovation and continues to teach throughout the CorePower network of studios nationwide. Heather received her first 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification in 2003 and has since completed trainings with Rolf Gates, Shiva Rea, Anna
Forrest, John Friend, Amy Ippolitti, Jason Crandell and is currently a E.R.Y.T 500 Hour with Yoga Alliance. Heather found yoga in college after years of dance and choreography took a toll on her physically and her
Ayurvedic practitioner recommended yoga. From there she realized that yoga was a way she could heal her body and mind and quickly wanted to make that her life focus. Her classes are a mix of smart training, challenge, and fun while creating an opening for personal transformation and freedom for students.

Anthony Chavez

Anthony believes yoga to be the physical embodiment of personal and spiritual growth. It was during his time as a
professional speaker at Freedom Personal Development that he was introduced to the practice. He immediately fell in love and made it his life’s work. His intention while teaching yoga or working as a Human Development instructor is crystal clear: It’s to help break the invisible binds of the mind to create a life of freedom through a heart-centered practice. Anthony has been professionally speaking and teaching yoga since 2009. He has led numerous yoga teacher trainings and personal development retreats. Anthony serves as the Director of Personal Transformation and Mindful Leadership for CorePower Yoga. When he’s not teaching yoga or speaking you can find Anthony playing with his son and daughter, riding his road bike, or trying to find some new way to push the human body and mind beyond its limit that his wife would not approve of.
