Vitality Pilates in Mexico

From February 22 to 29, 2020

Vitality Pilates in Mexico – February 2019 was a tough one in Seattle. Snow, ice, the city was closed. The rest of the country suffered as well. But then we went to Mexico to do Pilates, enjoy community, make new friends, sit on the beach and watch the whales swim by with their babies and the pelicans diving. We ate amazing food, swam in perfectly cold waterfalls on hot sunny days, swam with wild dolphins in the ocean, read and relaxed in a hammock… Vitality’s 2019 retreat at Xinalani was an absolute delight. You should come with us in 2020 when we take over a corner of this lovely yoga retreat center a second time for some Pilates with experienced teachers!

We have pricing ranging from budget savvy options for folks who want the getaway but are less interested in amenities, to luxurious for folks who want a little more alone time in comfort with their retreat. Cost of the retreat covers the following: 7 night stay including taxes, 3 hot meals daily plus access to homemade granola, fresh fruit, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, tea and coffee, transportation to and from the Puerto Vallarta airport, at least two Pilates classes daily plus a wonderful beach and tons of wildlife sightings. Prices do not cover the following: gratuities, spa treatments, excursions, bar drinks, airfare.

Autumn Needles

Pilates Teacher

Autumn Needles PMA-CPT® began dancing and practicing yoga as a child. She first encountered Pilates as a young dancer at Smith College but didn't begin her teaching career until almost 20 years later in 2006. She taught yoga, mat Pilates, and aqua-fit,  then got her comprehensive Pilates certification and in early 2012 joined the teaching team at Vitality Pilates. Autumn particularly loves working with people who come to Pilates due to struggles with injuries or chronic and limiting health conditions with the hope of finding functional strength, balance, and health in their everyday lives as they age.

With that goal she completed a two-year training with Nutritious Movement™ to teach Restorative Exercise based on alignment principles in 2016 and in 2018 became a Buff Bones® licensed instructor. Buff Bones® is a research-based physical practice designed to develop bone health and strength in those at risk for or diagnosed with osteoporosis or osteopenia. When she's not teaching Pilates, Autumn can be found with her nose in a book, taking a walk, or up in the air on a trapeze.

Melanie Blair

Pilates Teacher

Melanie Blair, PMA - CPT ®, has always enjoyed physical activity and now it has become her focus. Melanie earned her BA in Media Studies in Los Angeles before moving to Seattle over ten years ago. She came to pursue photography and eventually started a family, giving birth to twin boys in 2003. It was a difficult pregnancy; Melanie was bedridden for over three months and developed chronic back pain. Living just down the street from Vitality, she decided to give Pilates a try. Melanie was quickly hooked by Pilates. With regular practice, her pain was replaced with the desire to share this method of exercise. Melanie graduated from the Teacher Training Academy at Vitality in 2012 and has been teaching with us ever since. She loves creating challenging classes and working with clients to improve their health and well being.
