Sukha|Dukha and the Appreciation of the In-Betweens

Sukha|Dukha and the Appreciation of the In-Betweens

From June 22 to 29, 2019

Our lives are busy and hectic.  We are constantly bombarded by external callings, and even as we are on our yoga mats the texts and emails anxiously await our return.  When was the last time you disconnected completely from your day-to-day routine and responsibilities and took time to recalibrate, look inward, and truly celebrate all that your life has to offer? Sukha | Dukha and the Appreciation of the In-Betweens encourages you to look at all life has to offer, both the sweet and not-so-sweet moments. When life hands you bitterness, as it surely will, you learn to take it as it comes and use the experience to appreciate the sweet moments even more.  Instead of craving only the pleasurable, celebrate both ends of the spectrum and everything in between.  Spend 8 days and 7 nights with Morgan and Casandra to celebrate the ups, downs, and everything in between. Spend days practicing yoga, eating healthy and delicious food, lounging on the beach, and exploring the sights of Puerto Vallarta. You’ll have the chance for self-reflection and nurturing your spirit, laughter, and camaraderie with friends, and most importantly time to recharge.

Sukha|Dukha and the Appreciation of the In-Betweens

Morgan Mazza

E-RYT 500

Morgan is passionate about creating a space where students can cultivate personal power through the challenge of asana. She believes in asana as a physical vehicle for the transformation of mind and spirit. Morgan uses dynamic and thought-provoking alignment-based classes (both flow and form) to draw attention to habits and tendencies in a self-discovery process. Student empowerment surfaces through the cultivation of this awareness.  In carefully crafted classes, students are guided into challenging physical postures but asked to journey inward to look at their own reactions, tap into their strength, and become present. Among the training she has attended, the most notable was with Christina Sell.  Morgan credits Christina for her shift to clearer and more targeted teachings, both on and off the mat.  She completed the 300hr Alchemy of Flow and Form Advanced Teacher Training Program at the San Marcos School of Yoga with Christina Sell and Gioconda Parker. Morgan is the owner of Surya Yoga in El Paso, TX where she loves teaching classes to her dedicated community of yogis.  She is also humbled to be the lead teacher of both the Surya Yoga 200 Hour Teacher Training, as well as the 300 Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training.

Casandra Salas-Porras

Casandra is Yoga practice began in 2001. Since then it’s been a wild ride. Learning what Yoga truly is and what it is not. Learning and unlearning things on and off the mat. She has completed many Yoga Teacher Training, all varying in styles and teachers. Amongst some of these are three Teacher Training at Radiantly Alive in Bali Indonesia, a Yin Training with Sebastian Pucelle & Murielle Burellier and an Ashtanga Training with the legendary Tim Miller. She’s also submerged herself in deep introspective silence and meditation during a 12 day Vipassana in India. Meditation is an important part of her life. In her personal practice and while teaching, although always focused on alignment and Pranayama, she says “All of that can go to waste if we don’t surrender and allow vulnerability to crack open. We may be the most dedicated Yogi and if we don’t take a look at what’s going on inside of us, well a pose will forever remain just a pose. Now, if you do the asana AND look within, well, there the magic will rise.” Always giving you the map to take the road back to your true self; showing you that you’ve got the tools within you. Reminding you that the bitter and the sweet are both equally needed in life. Casandra teaches Yoga from the heart.
