Give yourself the gift of The Sacred Pause. Take time to withdraw from all that is normal and habitual.  Then, watch the beauty of what unfolds.  The repetitive nature of our thoughts, our patterns, our behaviors and our actions ultimately create our reality.  Often we are so unconsciously ‘going through the motions’ that we forget to recognize if we are, in fact, creating the life we truly dream of living. Retreating provides a beautiful opportunity to hit the proverbial pause button, to reflect on all that is present in our lives, to assess what continues to serve us in our lives, and alternatively to understand what no longer serves us.  When we are aware, we are then equipped to take action from an intentional, empowered place of truth. This retreat is designed to offer you this Sacred Pause and time for reflection.

It is our 6th year returning to Xinalani.  Each year our groups embody their own unique + individual energy and we ALWAYS come together in love and acceptance.  We each commit to hold space for whatever is ready to manifest.  During our retreat time together, we will cultivate compassion in the mind, the body and the soul. Balance is KEY to this process. On a beautiful jungle beach situated between Boca de Tomatlan and Yelapa, Mexico on Banderas Bay we will encourage this balance through integrated vinyasa + restorative asana practices. We’ll get quiet. We’ll sometimes get loud! We’ll practice. We’ll salsa dance! We’ll swim in the ocean, adventure and explore. We’ll surf and perhaps even swim with the dolphins!  We’ll be still and observe. We’ll RESET ourselves. In stepping out of our normalcies, we will create space for something new to be born. We will clear the clutter in our minds and our bodies. We will be in the breath, we will be at play in nature and we will be in the moment. Peace can only be found in the present moment. And, peace comes when we trade expectations for acceptance and loving what is.  Join us as we discover this place and more importantly…rediscover our SELVES.

About the teacher

Jill Knouse

In 2005, Jill left the corporate world to pursue her love of yoga full-time. Since discovering the practice, yoga has been a foundation for great transformation in her life, cultivating greater self-awareness and overall well-being. Jill is passionate about sharing the healing power of yoga with her students and has been actively doing so for over a decade. Her mindful, heart-centered teaching style naturally leads practitioners to a state of strength, flexibility, health, vitality and overall peace of mind. While Jill’s classes may be challenging, she makes them accessible to everyone through variations, modifications, props and her nurturing way of being. She strives to hold space and support her students in cultivating a devoted, sustainable practice infused with lot of JOY.

Jill has completed and led numerous teacher trainings. In 2012, she created and successfully launched Elevate Yoga Trainings, a mentorship program for yoga teachers looking to catapult their teaching to the next level while dramatically deepening their knowledge base. In 2015, Jill launched her very own RYT200 Teacher Training Program.  She is dedicated to helping students and teachers discover what makes them feel truly alive. As a trained massage therapist anatomy, safe alignment, relevant hands-on assists, and nourishing support are a huge part of her classes.  In addition to her trainings, Jill currently teaches yoga events and workshops, she offers private sessions, yoga for large and mid-sized corporations and offers weekly public classes at Yoga Pearl as well as Namaste on Williams in Portland, Oregon.  She participates in conferences and festivals plus leads group yoga adventures somewhere around the world twice a year. Jill’s deep caring, intuition and inspiration pour from her heart and into every one of her classes and trainings.

A Day In Your Yoga Retreat

While a more detailed schedule will be sent closer to the retreat date, there will be an evening yoga class on the day of arrival, a morning yoga class on the day of departure, and morning and evening yoga classes on the other days. Lots of free time to relax, get a massage, frolic in the warm ocean water, or take part in one of the many optional excursions.
